I think I’m quite happy with the number of posts I’ve managed to salvage. But I’ll be taking a short break for night before posting more soon. I didn’t realize just how much I posted over the span of a just a few months. It was fun browsing through my earlier drafts as I try to get this site up and running again. When this is over, I’ll probably give a short summary of what happened. But suffice to say that this should be a cautionary tale to all bloggers and webmasters. Always backup your site manually before any server move. In any event I think this will be my last post for the night. I still have a lot more posts to reupload in the coming days now that I am able to access my drafts. And then I’ll probably work on refining them again.
To those who are new to the site and was wondering what I’m talking about, just know that I was heartbroken last May 16th of 2021 when after upgrading the server, almost every post in this site returned a 404 warning not found. I can’t even login to the main dashboard because opening the login page results to a 404 error. Restoring the site via backups tell me that I have no backups in store. How crazy is that? Thankfully I always write my posts in notion first before copying them over to this site so the majority of them are intact. So that’s basically it. I’m still dealing with the effects of last day’s fallout that resulted to the loss of my entire site. But I’m working on restoring it manually, post by post by hand in the coming days. I hope I’ll encounter no more issues after this. That was my first major disaster since playing around with websites this year. Tsk tsk.
